No. Carina Eye Care does not bulk bill. Medicare rebates apply to eligible consultations, reducing your out-of-pocket cost. All private health funds are accepted for optical extras claims.

Your current glasses and/or contact lenses, your Medicare card, your health fund card, and any previous prescriptions or referral letters. For children, bring any school vision screening results. Also bring a card to pay with, a debit or EFTPOS card gets your Medicare rebate processed immediately.

After your eye examination and fitting assessment, you'll receive trial lenses to test at home. A follow-up appointment confirms fit and vision before your final prescription is issued.

Book online using the 'Book Now' button on this site, this opens Carina's Halaxy booking portal where you can select an appointment type and choose a time. Walk-ins are not accepted, all appointments must be pre-booked. You can also contact Carina via WhatsApp (+61 423 590 959) or email if you can't find a suitable time.

Carina Eye Care is closed for maternity leave from 3 May to 27 September 2026. Emails and WhatsApp messages are still monitored, with some delay in response.

Yes, GOLD and WHITE DVA Health Card holders are entitled to a complimentary pair of glasses every 2 years (bifocal, trifocal, or multifocal, or one reading and one distance pair), with all eye examinations billed directly to DVA electronically at no out-of-pocket cost. $50 for a dedicated 30-minute fitting appointment, covering frame fit, lens options, and myopia control or dry-eye eyewear as needed. This fee is reimbursed as a discount if you go ahead with a glasses purchase.

Orthokeratology (overnight contact lenses) is one of the strongest evidence-based myopia management options available. Suitability depends on corneal shape, prescription, and lifestyle, assessed during a dedicated suitability consultation.

Not in-house. If your assessment points to a binocular vision or eye-teaming issue that needs a dedicated vision therapy program, I refer to trusted colleagues, including Dr Celine Zhang (optometrist) at Eyecare Plus in Chullora.
